**Self Publishing Tools and Information**

[Not yet complete] This page holds a large amount of knowledge gathered over the years I have done
self-publishing. Here, you will find the formatting specifications for my books, my writing process,
how I go about preparing my manuscripts for publication, and other helpful information. You will also
find links to resources where you can get more information.

** Conversions and Good to Know Numbers **

There are a lot of important numbers a writer needs to know when writing science fiction. How fast is the
speed of light? What is 1G of acceleration? Since I use the metric system in all my books, I often find the
need to convert from the American measurement system to the world-standard metric system. This page lists
these important constants and provides a quick way to calculate conversions.

**Calculations **

[Not yet complete] My goal when writing science fiction is to keep the science as real as possible. To enable me to do this, I built an Excel spreadsheet to do the calculations for me. This page is a web-version of that spreadsheet. Here you will find calculations that can answer questions such as:

- How far would a ship traveling at 100 times the speed of light travel in 300 hours?
- Given the right ascension, declination, and distance from Earth of two stars, how far apart are the stars?
- What is the round-trip time delay of a light-speed (i.e. radio) signal to a base 24 million kilometers away?
